Reports to: Erika Shatz, Major Gifts Officer
Office site: Nonviolent Peaceforce Office, Minneapolis
Hour: 10-20 hrs/wk (semester), 20 hrs/wk (Summer), plus Friday intern meetings
Terms Available: Summer 2008, Fall 2008, Spring 2009
Job Summary: Assist Nonviolent Peaceforce to build meaningful relationships with its Major Gifts donors. 3/4 time: prospect research in preparation for meetings between NP leaders and donors. 1/4 time: special project designed with the intern, such as: online study group moderator, computer coaching for fundraising volunteers, hands on support with local chapters, attracting new donors, or increasing participation of current donors.
Responsibilities (for prospect research):
* Conduct research on major donors prospects using the internet
* Identify specific information requested
* Enter information in the database and create WORD documents as needed
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Experience and ability in internet web searches
* Very good written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Able to follow written and verbal directions well, able to work autonomously
* Confidentiality and discretion required
* Ability to focus while in close proximity to others
* Commitment to the mission of Nonviolent Peaceforce
* Commitment to work cooperatively and grow personally
Helpful Qualities:
* Patience, persistence, commitment and a sense of humor
* Fundraising experience
* Able to learn from successes and mistakes
