A Local Chapter is a group of volunteers that supports the work of Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) and advocate for the practice of nonviolence where they live.

What do Local Chapters do? Local Chapters spread the word about Nonviolent Peaceforce by having a table at an event, talking to others, or organising events for the public. Some focus on fundraising. Others educate the public about nonviolence. Local chapters can also participate in NP’s Nonviolent Conflict Intervention Training program, and can offer this training in their communities.

Who helps the Local Chapters? All Chapters belong to the Nonviolent Peaceforce Chapters Assocation. Through email, phone calls, newsletters, and a national conference, Chapters provide a strong network of support for each other.

Small or large, Chapters are committed to make Nonviolent Peaceforce’s goal of large-scale nonviolent peacekeeping a reality and to help create a sustainable peace throughout the world.
