Nonviolent Peaceforce is looking for a new dynamic member of staff who will assist the organisation and its Brussels office in communication activities and be in a joint advocacy project with NP partners in Europe. The work environment is multicultural with English as working language.
Tasks will include
- Coordinate production of online and print materials: newsletter, flyer, brochure, e-bulletin, etc.
- Assist coordination of partner organizations in Europe (advocacy, awareness raising campaigns and translations projects)
- Organise external events including all communication aspects (receptions, conferences, seminars, workshops, guests visits, etc)
- Handle all communication with individuals & organizations getting in contact with NP
- Be part of a working group on use of communication technology tools to maximize the organization’s productivity and effectiveness and act as IT coordinator for the Brussels office
- Support to campaigns, including e-mail appeals, advertisements in national and international press, online tools (including social networks and web 2.0)
Requirements
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, and confidence using them in a cross-cultural environment, as well as towards different target audiences (e.g. from general public to institutions)
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced, challenging non-profit setting
- Knowledge of the European Union Institutions
- Strong research and analysis skills, relevant academic degree
- At least another working language (French, Spanish or other European language)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office. Advanced use of publishing/ graphics software
This is a junior position, foreseen to be 30 hrs/week. Salary according to qualifications/experience.
