Reports to: Natalie Brenner (Finance Assistant), Kim Cermak (Chief Administrative Officer)
Office site: Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) Office, Minneapolis, MN
Hour: 10 hours per week, plus intern meetings
Semesters Available: Fall 2008
Job Summary: Assist in the daily accounting needs of the NP MN office. Includes learning/using the financial software Fund EZ, data entry, organizing and paying invoices, and helping with further development of financial procedures and policy.
Weekly Responsibilities:
• Accounts payable – prepare invoices and send routine payments
• Data Entry – record revenue and expenditures in the Fund EZ software
• Financial Procedures – work with financial staff and lend input on how we can maximize efficiency and accuracy in our system
Required Qualifications:
• Some accounting/financial experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work autonomously
• Self-motivated, proactive, and organized
• A sense of personal responsibility and accountability
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions well
• Commitment to the mission of Nonviolent Peaceforce
• Commitment to work cooperatively and grow personally
